Beverley Minster Lunchtime Concert – 4th November 2022
It’s always an occasion when we perform in Beverley Minster, but it’s been several years since we last sang in this impressive space.
We had great feedback from a large audience. Our Musical Director, Liz Wilson, sang a lovely solo, and Amy Butler, our amazing accompanist gave us a sparkling performance.
Amy told us how she had been look forward to playing the Minster’s Steinway and she really made that piano sing.
Toll Gavel Coffee Morning
It was hard work, but fun, running the coffee morning in the Toll Gavel Church Hall. It was a shame that is was the weekend after The Queen died, and the attendance wasn’t great.
We did raise much needed funds for the choir and met a potential new choir member.
When we sang, it went down very well, so next time we’ll have to do more.
Concert for Hornsea Lions at Hornsea Methodist Church.
Well we thought we were singing very well at Hornsea Methodist Church, for the Hornsea Lions, but then Eleanor Philpot sang on her own, and we were completely overshadowed.
Eleanor captured our hearts as she sang songs from the shows. I’m sure the audience loved the evening.
Joint concert with Kidderminster Male Choir.
We had a great time singing with the visiting choir who are on tour in Yorkshire.
Sadly we have to announce the death of Hugh Walton, 1st Tenor and former Chairman. He had recently been in hospital, but passed away on Wednesday 29th June. Our hearts and thoughts go out to Julia and the rest of his family and friends.
Wedding at Beverley Barn
We were very appreciated when we sang for David and Heather at their wedding.
The weather was a bit mixed, but it didn’t matter as inside it was bright and cheerful with the radiance of the bride.
If you want us to sing at your function, do get in touch with us here.
We missed having Liz there but we understood as she very recently had a tragic bereavement.
Cherry Burton concert
We had a fun night out singing in St Michael’s in Cherry Burton for St George’s Day.
We were joined by the excellent Positive Note choir. And finished with some audience participation with the patriotic songs Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory. Flag waving was compulsory.
