Yorkshire-born pianist Amy Butler studied with British concert pianist Martin Roscoe and gained a first-class master’s degree from Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford.
Amy has a particular passion for chamber music and she especially enjoys working collaboratively with other musicians. Regular concert partners include violinist Boglárka György and flautist Chris Hill; she also comprises one half of the Luna Piano Duo, alongside pianist Graziana Presicce.
Amy has performed for numerous venues and music societies across the UK, recent highlights include Stratford-upon-Avon Music Society, North Westmorland Arts, Warwick Arts Centre, Weymouth Chamber Concerts, St Mary’s Perivale, Sprotbrough Music Society, the Eric Coates Society and the Guild of Musicians and Singers (London). She is also a staff pianist for the East Riding Music Service and accompanist for Beverley Male Voice Choir and Snaith & District Choral Society.
Future duo concerts include appearances Yatton Music Society, Evesham Music Society, Melrose Music Society, Salisbury Chamber Music Club, The Hub, St. Lukes, Litchfield and Howdenshire Music Educational Outreach.

Matthew Collins performs Kellner’s Prelude in C
In this Interlude, Howden Minster’s very own Director of Music Matthew Collins performs the joyful and sparkling Prelude in C by German organist and composer Johann Christoph Kellner (1736-1803). The performance features the Minster’s wonderful Rushworth & Dreaper organ – one of the finest in the region.

Matthew Collins studied the organ with Christopher Gray (Truro Cathedral) and Roger Tebbet (Selby Abbey) and was appointed Director of Music at Howden Minster in 2009. Oratorio credits as director or accompanist include Messiah, Stabat Mater (Poulenc), Requiem (Fauré, Duruflé and Rutter) and Petite Messe Solennelle (Rossini). In addition to his church and choral work, Matthew is Head of Music at the De Costa Academy of Singing, York.

Harry hails from Beverley and has been playing the violin since the age of three. He spent five years in the National Youth Orchestra, working with conductors including John Wilson, Edward Gardner and Marin Alsop, and is currently a student at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Professor Rodney Friend. Harry plays an English violin by renowned Yorkshire violin maker John K. Empsall (1856-1910) and W E Hill bow, both lent to him by the Royal Academy of Music.
