Subsequent to the acquisition of Charitable Status by the Choir, the first meeting of the Trustees was conducted on 30 March 2021. The minutes of this, and subsequent meetings, are recorded below.
Beverley Male Voice Choir Trustee Committee Meeting,
10.00pm, 30th March 2021, on Zoom
Present: David Cross (Chairman) (DC), Nick Hart (NH), Steve Horner (SH), Phil MacMullen (PM), Julian Musik (JM), Albert Newbery (AN). All present are Trustees except Albert Newbery, who is the person who made the application to the Charity Commission on behalf of BMVC.
The meeting was convened to bring all the Trustees up to date with matters relating to the Choir’s status as a Registered Charity.
- It was confirmed that we have had an acknowledgement that HMRC have received the Choir’s application to be registered with them.
- AN is awaiting confirmation that the application has been accepted. Once this has been confirmed the Choir will be able to start claiming Gift Aid.
Summary of Actions
AN will continue to be available to help PM (Treasurer) to set up a the records/schedule needed to record charitable donationsAN will inform the Trustees when the Choir is confirmed as registered with HMRC.
There being no other business to discuss, the meeting was closed at 10.32 am.
